About this site

NZSalary.com is published by Radif Partners, an independent publisher of free payroll and tax calculators for several countries. The site was started in 2026 to give New Zealand employees, contractors and employers a pay calculator that follows Inland Revenue’s rules for the 2026-27 tax year line by line, including the parts most calculators skip: the new 3.5 % KiwiSaver default, ESCT on employer contributions, the independent earner tax credit and its abatement, secondary tax codes and the ACC levy ceiling.

Why this calculator exists

Three things changed in New Zealand pay in less than two years: the tax thresholds moved on 31 July 2024, the government KiwiSaver contribution was halved in July 2025, and the default KiwiSaver rate rose to 3.5 % in April 2026. Many calculators still mix old and new rules. We rebuilt the calculation from Inland Revenue’s rates, checked each parameter against the official page, and show the source and date next to every figure.

How we work

Every rate is written into a single parameter file with its source and the date it was checked, and never typed into a page by hand. Pages that quote an amount compute it with the same engine as the calculator. The parameters were last checked on 2026-09-27. The method, test cases and known limits are on the methodology page, and the rules we follow in writing and correcting are in the editorial policy.

How the site is funded

The site is free and requires no account. It may show advertising in the future, placed below the calculators and never inside them. We do not sell data, and there is none to sell: the calculators run in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us. No bank, KiwiSaver provider, employer or government body pays for or reviews the content.

What we are not

We are not tax agents and not affiliated with Inland Revenue, ACC or MBIE. The results are estimates to help you plan; your payslip and your end-of-year income tax assessment are the documents that count.

Report an error

If a figure looks wrong, write to contact@nzsalary.com with the page, the inputs and what you expected. We check every report against the official source and publish corrections with their date.
